JOURNAL OF CLINICAL ONCOLOGY
publishes special obesity and cancer series
In 2014, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) made obesity and cancer one of its core initiatives. It’s easy to understand why. Research continues to show that obesity is linked to a risk for developing and dying from cancer. A new special series from ASCO’s Journal of Clinical Oncology looks at the progress of the ASCO Obesity Initiative today and explores many of the connections between obesity and cancer. The special issue features associate editor Pamela J. Goodwin, MD and guest editor Rowan T. Chlebowski, MD, PhD. Physicians can access the entire special issue online.
The special issue is made up of more than a dozen articles including:
- Obesity and Cancer: Insight for Clinicians
- Obesity and Breast Cancer Prognosis
- Obesity, Energy Balance, and GI Cancer
- Obesity and Endometrial Cancer Risk, Prevention, and Treatment
- Obesity and Other Cancers
- Weight Loss and Randomized Trials in Breast Cancer
- Impact of Obesity-Associated Factors on Cancer
- ASCO Obesity Initiative
